The process of controlling the pollution control materials of the old port of Aegiali, and in particular the floating anti-pollution barriers, which was carried out on Friday morning by the Municipal Port Fund of Aegiali in collaboration with the 3rd Port Department of Aegiali, with the participation of services of the Municipality of Aegiali and boat owners, was crowned with complete success.
In particular, the buoyancy of the anti-pollution barriers used in the event of a fuel or waste spill, etc., was tested in real time, so that on the one hand pollution can be limited and on the other hand the spilled waste can be properly collected with the necessary absorbent materials.
During the inspection, officers of the 3rd Port Department of Aigio collaborated, as did executives of the Municipal Port Fund of Aigialeia, headed by the president, Mr. Andreas Economou, a five-member team and vehicles of the Civil Protection of the Municipality of Aigialeia under the supervision and with the substantial contribution of the competent deputy mayor and. Dimitris Filippatou, operator of the Technical Service with a clark provided by the Municipality, as well as the boat owners Mr. Spyros Psarakos and George Evgenopoulos. Also present were the deputy mayors Mr. Nikos Karaiskos and Vasilis Christopoulos.
