At October 21 the President of Inter-Municipal Port Fund of Lesvos, Mr. Taktikos Panagiotis, participated in a meeting held at the Administration of the Regional Unit of Magnesia & Northern Sporades, in Volos, on the subject of the maritime interconnection of Volos and the islands of the North Aegean (Sigri).
The meeting was attended by the Governor of the North Aegean, Mr. Moutzouris Konstantinos, the Governor of Thessaly, Mr. Kouretas Dimitrios, thematic Vice-Governors, the First Vice-President of the Chamber of Lesvos and First Vice-President of the EOAEN, Mr. Tatakis Panagiotis, the President of the Chamber of Magnesia, Mr. Basdanis Aristotelis, representative of the Chamber of Lesvos and Vice-President of the Inter-Municipal Port Fund of Lesvos, Mr. Karambeazis Dimos, the CEO of the Port of Volos Authority, Mr. Anagnostou Sokratis, the President of the Hoteliers' Association of Magnesia, Mr. Zafeiris Giorgos, the President of the Students' Union of the University of Thessaly, Mr. Neamonitis Nikos, the President of the Association Thessalon Lesvos Mr. Argyriou Michael (online) and representatives of production - tourism bodies.
The Inter-Municipal Port Fund of Lesvos underlined the importance of the connection for the economic, tourist and social development of the islands, as well as the need for improving infrastructure and route planning that will effectively serve residents and visitors.
The meeting concluded in a positive climate of cooperation, with a shared will of all stakeholders to continue efforts to implement the project, with the aim of promoting sustainable solutions for regular and reliable coastal ferry service to the regions.
