MYKONOS PORT FUND: Digital guide of the Port Fund to promote the island to its visitors

The Port Authority has created six digital guides to inform visitors to Mykonos, through its official website, in a special entry entitled “Destination Highlights”. The excellent material presents historical and other points of interest in a professional and user-friendly manner, with references even to Mythology, in a layout reminiscent of an “open digital book”, where the entire cover is proudly displayed on the left and the introductory text of the section on the right.

Below the introduction, a prominent, modern button was placed for immediate reading or downloading of the PDF and the corresponding photographic material was integrated, giving the visitor a strong visual taste of the content.

This application provides smart navigation specifically for mobile users and allows them to easily return to the main grid and continue browsing the rest of the guides, increasing their time on the website. This design is reminiscent of a modern travel portal and adapts perfectly to mobile device screens. https://mykonosports.gr/destination-highlights/.

To ensure that visitors will immediately see the new initiative upon entering the Port Fund's site, the main page was added to the main Menu and a special, impressive section (banner) was created on the Home page, which functions as a Call to Action and directs the user directly to exploring the new material.

All introductory texts, titles and navigation buttons on the new pages have been designed exclusively in English. This is a conscious choice, in order to ensure absolute visual and semantic coherence with the digital guide material (PDFs) itself, which is in English, directly targeting the international audience of visitors to the island.

In a statement, the President of the Mykonos Port Fund, Athina Kousathanas-Megas, emphasized: “In addition to our continuous efforts to modernize our ports, we are taking initiatives to highlight the multidimensional character of Mykonos, mainly to cruise ship passengers. Mykonos remains a constant value and we have a duty to maintain this with whatever ability modern technology provides us.”
