On Thursday 27 and Friday 28/8/2020, a visit was made by the Minister of Shipping and Insular Policy, Mr. Plakiotakis Ioannis, accompanied by the Chief of the Coast Guard, Vice Admiral Mr. Kliaris Theodoros, the Secretary General of Ports, Mr. Kyriazopoulos Evangelos, and the Secretary General of Insular Policy, Ms. Kalogirou Christiana.
During the meeting at the Corfu Port Authority, all issues of the Port Authority, the projects under development and its development prospects were brought to the attention of the political leadership.
The Minister offered the Ministry's full assistance in the planned actions.
On Thursday 27/8/2020, a visit was made to the port of Lefkimmi as well as to the island of Paxos where a meeting was held with the municipal authority. In the afternoon, a broad meeting of stakeholders was held in the Region of the Ionian Islands and on Friday, a visit was made to the Diapontia Islands (Othonous and Erikousa).
The improvement of port infrastructure, the service provided to the residents of our offshore islands and the residents' sense of security with the dynamic presence of the Coast Guard, were among the priorities on which the Minister focused.
