Municipal Port Fund of Aigialeia (M.P.F. of Aigialeia)

The Municipal Port Fund of Aigialeia is the manager of the Port Facility, which is based in Aigio and maintains an office within the Old Port. It is a Legal Entity of the Municipality, inextricably linked to many of the Services of the Municipality of Aigialeia.

The purpose of the Port Fund is the continuous improvement of the port facilities, promoting the tourist development of Aegialia and at the same time, the strengthening of the Port's freight transport to support the markets of the wider Peloponnese and Western Greece. The good quality of services and the development of the port area for the benefit of the local community, while defending the public interest and acting with the protection of the marine environment in mind.

The Board of Directors is the supreme body of the Municipal Port Fund of Aigialeia. It sets the general guidelines for the activities of the fund for the fulfillment of its aims and objectives and decides on any matter related to its administration and general operation.

The New Port of Aigio is located on the west coast of the Gulf of Aigio. The port has a mixed character (commercial and passenger/tourist) and can serve either Ro-Ro ships or cruise ships, as well as trucks. The land area has an area of approximately 32.000 sq.m. available for the operations of the facility. This land area includes waiting areas for vehicles that are to board the ferries, space for the construction of additional building facilities in the future, as well as space for servicing cargo ships.
