Chios Municipal Port Fund (Chios Municipal Port Fund)
The Chios Inter-Municipal Port Fund is the management body of 19 port infrastructures. The Chios Municipal Port Fund is the management body of all port infrastructures on the island of Chios, Psara and the Oinousses complex, where passenger, ferry and cargo ship routes are operated.
It is also the management body of all the fishing shelters on the island, contributing to the preservation of the nautical tradition and the involvement of the people of Chios with the sea.
The central port of the island is located in its eastern part and constitutes one of the main pillars of Chios' development.
In its southern part there is a marina, which hosts a large number of pleasure boats, the aim of which is to serve them by continuously upgrading the infrastructure and services offered to its users.
Chios has two ports serving cruise ships, the central port in the east of the island and the port of Mesta in the southwest.
The central port of Chios is fully integrated into the urban fabric. It operates 24 hours a day and has an approved Port Facility Security Plan in accordance with the ISPS Code, security services and a passenger waiting room. It can accommodate a cruise ship of maximum length 250 meters, at one of its two piers.
The port of Mesta is a modern port infrastructure, completed in 2015. It operates 24 hours a day and has an approved Port Facility Security Plan in accordance with the ISPS Code, security services and passenger waiting shelters. It can simultaneously serve two cruise ships of 150 meters each, or one of 250 meters.
