In 2002, the responsibilities of the Port Fund of the Prefecture of Cyclades concerning the Municipality of Milos were transferred to the Municipality and a Public Legal Entity was established under the name "Municipal Port Fund of Milos", which operates in accordance with the provisions of Presidential Decree 410/95 (A, 231) and exercises its responsibilities in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs 1 and 2 of article 28 of Law 2738/99, as in force. With this transfer of responsibilities, the Municipal Port Fund of Milos is called upon to offer public utility services and contribute to commercial, passenger, maritime, tourist and fishing traffic and more generally to the smooth operation of the island's ports (Adamantas, Kanava, Pollonia).
