Rhodes is the largest island of the Dodecanese. The port of Rhodes operates as a cruise ship arrival port. It is able to accommodate up to eight cruise ships with a maximum length of up to 250 m at the same time. It can also serve 2 cruise ships. The port implements approved Port Facility Security Plans (PFSPs) within the framework of the "International Ship and Port Facility Code" (ISPS) while the area is guarded by the Port Police and a private security company.

The tourist port of Rhodes operates under the management and exploitation of the Municipal Port Fund of Southern Dodecanese, receives approximately 400-500 cruise ship arrivals per year and over 550.000 visitors, while since June 2012 it has also operated as a Home Port. The port facility has all the modern infrastructure for the best service of cruise ships and their passengers.
