Municipal Port Fund of Pyrgos (Katakolo)
Katakolo is the port of Pyrgos, the capital of Ilia. Despite its small size, it is a very important port that was founded in 1857 to serve commercial purposes.
Due to its geographical location and the attractions it offers to visitors, today it is the 3rd busiest cruise port in Greece, offering the amenities of a modern and safe port.
The port is being modernized so that it can serve the ever-increasing traffic of cruise ships that disembark visitors to the archaeological site of Ancient Olympia.

operates as a port of call for cruise ships. It has three piers for cruise ships, two for ships up to 300 meters long and one for ships up to 200 meters long. The average depth of the piers ranges from 7,5m. to 10,5 m. The port of Katakolo implements approved Port Facility Security Plans (PFSPs) within the framework of the "International Ship and Port Facility Code" (ISPS).
