As part of the initiatives for the development of the cruise industry, on Thursday 28/09/2023, OLK S.A. together with the Kavala Chamber of Commerce and "Demofelia" on behalf of the Municipality of Kavala, welcomed a delegation from the Port of Burgas, Bulgaria, with the participation of the counterpart organizations.
Their visit to Kavala followed the initial contact that had taken place in Burgas on 12/07/2023, launching a series of synergies between the two Ports, in the field of cruises. The working meeting was held in the presence of the president of Kavala hoteliers and a representative of Fraport Greece, covering a wide range of issues related to the possibilities of connecting cruises with the destination.
Regarding this meeting, the CEO of OLK SA, Dr. Angelos F. Vlachos, stated that "it is a productive step in a long, arduous journey that marks the attempted extroversion and articulates the development perspective of the Port with the social dividend towards the professional world and of course the citizens of Kavala themselves."
The final culmination of this specific initiative is expected to be sealed in Burgas around mid-October, within the framework of the planned 63rd General Assembly of MedCruise, with the signing of an official agreement before all partners of the international cruise industry.
