As part of the systematic effort of O.L.K. S.A. to establish the city of Kavala as an important destination for Cruise passengers and in collaboration (for the first time) with the Region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace and the Kavala Chamber of Commerce, a "fam trip" was planned and carried out on 15-19/09/2024, focused on the needs of relevant visitors.
In this direction, high-ranking executives of international cruise groups participated, representing fifteen individual companies in the field.
The event, which was completed with complete success, concerned, on the one hand, the Port of Kavala and the city, and on the other hand, it aimed at highlighting and exploiting attractions in the wider region of A.M.Th., a destination relatively unknown to foreign visitors.
The guests toured the main attractions of the destination, such as the city of Kavala, the archaeological site of Philippi, Amphipolis, the Nestos River wetland, the old city of Xanthi, the beaches of Nea Peramos and Keramoti, while a brief visit to Thassos was also made, while they gained experience of local gastronomy with products mainly coming from the wider region of East Macedonia-Thrace.
The overall experience left excellent impressions and expectations for future cooperation between the companies and the Organization.
Finally, O.L.K. S.A., in good and practical cooperation with local authorities and interested parties, continues its efforts to dynamically mark Kavala as a hospitable and safe destination for cruise visitors.
