The Volos Port Authority was filled with joyful voices on Friday, April 3, 2026, as it welcomed little "Lazarines" from the Volos Special Vocational Education and Training Laboratory (SVETL) who sang Lazarus carols.
The children, along with their accompanying teachers and the School Director, Mr. George Albanoudis, were welcomed by the CEO of the Volos Port Authority, Mr. Socrates Anagnostou, and the employees.
Conveying the message of optimism and joy, the students, teachers and the Principal offered handmade crafts and Easter treats to the CEO and the Organization and respectively received bags with gifts for the children and some musical instruments needed by the school, which will participate in the Choir Festival this year on April 23.
The Director of the school, Mr. Albanoudis, in his statements, thanked both the Volos Port Organization and personally the CEO, Mr. Socrates Anagnostou, who is by their side with the donation of a modern electric physiotherapy bed and now with the musical instruments. "With great pleasure we came to the Volos Port Organization to sing Lazarus, the carols of spring. It is a beautiful custom that we are trying to preserve in our school. Lazarus brings the message of rebirth, love and hope, something that we are trying to pass on through our school. "I feel really proud to serve the school, but I feel even more proud because our students, through their participation and effort, give us the message of love and the effort for inclusion, to integrate into our society, and I think that is the most important thing of all. We are really trying to change this society as much as possible and to be able to accept people with special needs or disabilities," he said, among other things.
The CEO of the OLB, Mr. Anagnostou, thanked the students, the accompanying teachers and the Director for the visit and the gifts they offered him and congratulated everyone for the work and function they perform in highlighting the creativity of these children. At the same time, he emphasized that such extroversion actions strengthen the children's self-confidence and remind us all of the value of equality, respect and the active participation of every person in social life.
Finally, he wished a Happy Resurrection and a Happy Easter, with health, love and joy.
